WHERE IS MOLD FOUND?
The short answer: everywhere. Mold is ubiquitous to our environment, therefore it is all around us in the air we breathe. Mold becomes an indoor air quality concern when there is more mold growing indoors than naturally occurring outside, or if the mold found indoors is different from the mold found outside. In either of these scenarios, there is a potential for mold contamination and adverse health effects.

Molds can produce allergens, irritants, and potentially carcinogenic mycotoxins. However, for each individual, the effects associated with mold exposure can range dramatically. The following is a list of health effects connected to mold exposure: Headaches, Eye Irritation, Asthma/Emphysema, Fatigue, Skin Rash, Sinus Infection, and Dizziness.

AVOID MOLD SCAMS BY CHOOSING AN INDEPENDENT TESTING COMPANY
Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies out there conducting mold testing on the cheap and then conveniently offering their own remediation services to fix the problem. This is a clear conflict of interest and allows a scenario in which mold is allegedly found when there isn't any leaving the consumer paying thousands of dollars for bloated repair estimates or improper and ineffective remediation.
Environmental Compliance & Testing does not offer remediation like many one-stop-shop companies, giving consumers an unbiased opinion about any contamination. It is important when choosing a mold inspector to find one who shares this commitment, and who has the equipment and experience. If you are in need of remediation services we will gladly share contact information for several reliable third-party remediation companies we trust.
